The right choice depends on your property, budget, wiring, monitoring requirements and whether you prefer a traditional wired alarm, a hybrid system or a fully wireless smart alarm.

1. Bosch Solution 3000 – Best Overall Alarm System for Homes and Small Businesses

The Bosch Solution 3000 remains one of the best all-round alarm systems for 2026. It is reliable, flexible and well suited to homes, townhouses, offices, shops, medical suites and small commercial premises.

The Solution 3000 supports up to 16 fully programmable zones, allowing detectors, reed switches, glass break sensors and other devices to be configured across different areas of the property. CTC Communications also offers Solution 3000 kits with IP module options for app control and remote arming.

What makes the Bosch Solution 3000 stand out is its balance between traditional wired reliability and modern convenience. It can be used as a wired system or expanded with compatible wireless equipment, making it a strong option for both new installations and system upgrades.

Best for: homes, small businesses, shops, offices, granny flats and customers wanting a dependable alarm with future expansion.

2. Bosch Solution 2000 – Best Entry-Level Alarm System for 2026

The Bosch Solution 2000 is the best choice for smaller properties that need a simple, reliable and cost-effective alarm system. It is ideal for homes, units, small offices and shops where a full commercial-grade system is not required.

The Bosch Solution 2000 supports up to 8 wired zones, making it suitable for standard motion detectors, door contacts, reeds, glass break sensors or selected perimeter protection.

This system is easy to operate and can be paired with touchscreen keypad options, IP modules and remote-control kits depending on the package selected. For customers who want a dependable wired alarm without overcomplicating the system, the Solution 2000 is still a strong performer in 2026.

Best for: smaller homes, apartments, townhouses, small shops and simple alarm upgrades.

3. Bosch Solution 6000 – Best Commercial and Large Property Alarm System

The Bosch Solution 6000 is the strongest Bosch option for larger homes, warehouses, factories, offices, schools, commercial premises and multi-area properties.

This system supports up to 144 zones with the correct combination of expansion modules and accessories. It can also support advanced features such as multiple areas, user control, access control options and smartphone connectivity depending on the system configuration.

The Solution 6000 is a good choice when you need more than a standard domestic alarm. It is suited to properties that require multiple departments, staff access levels, warehouse zones, office partitions, external areas or future expansion.

Best for: commercial buildings, warehouses, factories, large homes, multi-area sites and businesses needing a scalable alarm system.

4. Hills Security / Hills Reliance – Best for Existing Hills Alarm Upgrades

Hills alarm systems have been widely installed across Australian homes and businesses for many years. For customers with an existing Hills system, the Hills Reliance / Reliance XR range can be a practical upgrade path.

The Reliance XR is described as a hybrid security solution suitable for residential through to larger commercial applications. It includes support for app control through UltraSync, onboard IP communication, multiple codepads, areas, zones and remote management options.

The biggest advantage of Hills is upgrade compatibility. If your property already has Hills wiring, detectors, sirens or compatible infrastructure, a Hills upgrade can often modernise the system without replacing every part.

Best for: existing Hills alarm customers, system upgrades, homes and businesses wanting to reuse existing alarm infrastructure.

5. Hikvision AX PRO – Best Wireless Alarm for CCTV Integration

The Hikvision AX PRO is one of the strongest wireless alarm options for customers who already use Hikvision CCTV or want alarm and video security connected through one ecosystem.

The AX PRO range supports wireless security devices such as keypads, remote controls, indoor and outdoor PIR detectors, magnetic contacts and sirens. Selected AX PRO panels can support up to 96 wireless zones or outputs, including PIRCAM devices, wireless keyfobs, repeaters, sounders, tag readers and keypads.

Hikvision also promotes AX PRO with video verification options, allowing the system to work with Hikvision IP cameras and PIRCAM devices for improved event confirmation.

This makes AX PRO a good option for homes and businesses wanting a wireless alarm that can work closely with CCTV, remote alerts and app-based control.

Best for: wireless alarm installations, Hikvision CCTV users, homes, small businesses and sites wanting app control with visual verification.

6. Dahua AirShield – Best Value Wireless Alarm Platform

The Dahua AirShield wireless alarm system is a smart option for customers who want a wireless alarm that integrates well with Dahua CCTV, intercom and mobile app solutions.

Dahua’s AirShield system is designed around cloud management, remote operation and security integration. Dahua notes that users can manage CCTV, alarms, video door phone and other security systems from the same mobile app, while alarm-video linkage can help verify events through connected cameras.

AirShield is particularly attractive for customers who already use Dahua equipment, as the system can form part of a broader Dahua security ecosystem.

Best for: Dahua CCTV users, wireless alarm installs, budget-conscious customers and properties needing alarm-video integration.

7. Ajax – Best Premium Wireless Smart Alarm System

The Ajax alarm system is a premium wireless security platform known for its modern design, smart app experience and wide range of wireless devices.

Ajax offers wireless and hybrid control panel options, including hubs that support photo verification and both wireless and wired device integration. Ajax also offers MotionCam detectors that can provide photo verification after a detector is triggered, helping users and monitoring centres better understand what caused the alarm.

Ajax is often selected by customers who want a modern-looking system with strong app usability, wireless flexibility and premium device design.

Best for: premium homes, modern apartments, smart security upgrades and customers wanting a sleek wireless alarm system.

Wired vs Wireless Alarm Systems in 2026

A wired alarm system is still the best choice for many homes and businesses because the detectors are physically connected to the control panel. This makes wired systems highly reliable, especially for permanent installations.

Wireless alarm systems are ideal where running cables is difficult, expensive or not practical. They are also popular for apartments, rental-friendly installations, heritage homes and finished properties where customers want less disruption.

Hybrid systems offer the best of both worlds. Systems such as Bosch Solution 3000, Bosch Solution 6000 and Hills Reliance can be configured with a mix of wired and wireless devices depending on the property and equipment used.

Which Alarm System Should You Choose?

For most homes and small businesses, the Bosch Solution 3000 is our top recommendation because it offers excellent reliability, flexible configuration and strong upgrade options.

For smaller homes, the Bosch Solution 2000 is a practical and affordable choice.

For larger or commercial sites, the Bosch Solution 6000 is the strongest option because it is designed for expansion, multiple areas and more complex security requirements.

For wireless installations, Hikvision AX PRO is a strong choice if you want integration with Hikvision CCTV, while Dahua AirShield is ideal for Dahua users. Ajax is the best choice for customers wanting a premium wireless smart alarm experience.

For existing Hills customers, a Hills Reliance upgrade may be the most practical option, especially if you want to reuse existing detectors, cabling and sirens.

Final Recommendation

There is no single alarm system that suits every property. The best alarm system for 2026 depends on your building layout, whether cables already exist, how many areas need protection, whether you want app control, and if the system needs to connect to CCTV or back-to-base monitoring.

For dependable everyday protection, Bosch remains one of the strongest choices. For smart wireless security, Hikvision AX PRO, Dahua AirShield and Ajax each offer excellent options depending on your preferred ecosystem.
