  • Visible deterrent – The traditional bullet shape clearly signals that an area is under surveillance.
  • High-resolution imaging – Available in a range of resolutions for clearer video and greater detail.
  • Infrared night vision – Supports monitoring in low-light and dark conditions.
  • Flexible installation – Suitable for wall, ceiling and compatible pole-mounted applications.
  • Remote viewing – Compatible systems can be monitored through mobile apps, browsers or software.
  • Motion detection – Selected cameras can trigger recording or notifications when activity is detected.

Image Quality, Lens & Coverage

HiLook bullet cameras are available with different resolutions and lens options to suit a range of security applications.

Feature What It Means Typical Application
High Resolution Higher-resolution cameras provide more detail in recorded footage. Entrances, driveways, shops and business premises.
Wide-Angle Lens Provides broader scene coverage from one camera position. Open areas, entry points and general perimeter monitoring.
Narrower / Longer-Range Lens Provides a tighter field of view for more distant areas. Driveways, gates and longer approach areas.
Directional Bullet Housing Makes it easy to aim the camera towards a specific area. Walls, eaves, entrances and perimeter locations.
Lens size has a major effect on camera coverage. A wider lens provides more scene coverage, while a narrower lens can provide more detail at greater distance.

Day & Night CCTV Monitoring

Many HiLook bullet cameras include infrared LEDs that allow the camera to continue monitoring when lighting levels fall.

  • Infrared night vision – Provides surveillance in low-light or dark conditions.
  • 24/7 monitoring – Suitable for locations requiring daytime and night-time security coverage.
  • Outdoor perimeter protection – Useful for driveways, yards and external approaches after dark.
  • Motion-based events – Compatible systems can trigger alerts or recording based on detected activity.

Night vision distance varies between camera models. Check the individual product specification to ensure the IR range suits the area you need to monitor.

HiLook NVR, PoE & Remote Viewing

Compatible HiLook IP bullet cameras can connect to HiLook Network Video Recorders for centralised recording, playback and CCTV system management.

  • NVR recording – Store footage from compatible network cameras.
  • PoE support – Compatible cameras can receive power and data over one network cable.
  • Remote viewing – Access compatible CCTV systems from smartphones, tablets or computers.
  • Recorded playback – Search and review stored footage through the recorder.

Which HiLook CCTV Camera Is Right for You?

Choosing a HiLook camera is easier when you start with where the camera will be installed and what you need it to do. HiLook offers options for everyday home and business surveillance, colour night viewing, active deterrence, vandal-resistant locations, panoramic coverage and large areas requiring pan, tilt and zoom.

Quick Tip: Don't choose a CCTV camera on megapixels alone. Consider night performance, viewing angle, intelligent detection, audio, mounting location and whether you need a fixed view or movable PTZ coverage.

Understanding HiLook Camera Features

6MP or 8MP 4K?

6MP cameras provide excellent detail for most home and business CCTV applications while keeping recording storage requirements more manageable.

8MP 4K cameras provide additional image detail and are worth considering where image clarity is particularly important or where you may want more detail when reviewing recorded footage.

Higher resolution normally requires more recording storage, so the best choice depends on both image-quality requirements and how long you want to retain footage.

Standard IR, Smart Hybrid Light or Full-Colour?

Infrared night vision provides reliable surveillance in darkness, generally producing monochrome footage when there is insufficient visible light.

Smart Hybrid Light provides greater flexibility by combining infrared and white-light illumination. On compatible cameras, the system can use infrared for discreet monitoring and activate white light when an event occurs, helping capture useful colour detail.

Full-colour low-light cameras are designed for customers who place a higher priority on retaining colour information at night where suitable lighting conditions allow.

What Is Human & Vehicle Detection?

Selected HiLook cameras can classify people and vehicles rather than relying only on basic movement detection.

This can help reduce unnecessary events caused by general environmental movement and make recorded footage easier to search and review.

What Is Active Deterrence?

HiLook active deterrence cameras are designed to do more than simply record an event.

Selected models combine features such as:

  • Red and blue flashing warning lights
  • Built-in speaker
  • Built-in microphone
  • Audible warnings
  • White-light illumination
  • Human and vehicle detection

This makes them particularly useful around driveways, entrances, shops, warehouses and other locations where visible deterrence may be beneficial.

Turret, Bullet or Dome?

Turret cameras are an excellent general-purpose choice for homes and businesses. Their compact design works well under eaves, around entrances and across commercial properties.

Bullet cameras have a more visible, directional appearance and are particularly useful for outdoor perimeter surveillance, driveways and larger external areas.

Vandal-resistant dome cameras are suited to accessible or high-traffic locations. Selected IK10-rated models provide additional impact resistance for retail stores, apartment complexes, foyers, car parks and public areas.

When Should I Choose a PTZ Camera?

A PTZ camera can pan, tilt and zoom, allowing you to change the area being viewed rather than permanently monitoring one fixed direction.

The PTZ-N3404LIU/SL is better suited to closer and medium-range applications where intelligent tracking, 4× optical zoom, two-way audio and deterrence features are useful.

The PTZ-N4225I-DE is designed for larger areas where its powerful 25× optical zoom and long-range infrared surveillance are more important.

PTZ Buying Tip: A PTZ only records the direction it is viewing at that moment. For critical entrances, gates and other areas requiring continuous coverage, fixed cameras are often used alongside a PTZ.

Which HiLook Camera Is Best for My Property?

Home CCTV

For most homes, start with a 6MP turret camera for entrances, side access and general outdoor coverage. Consider Smart Hybrid Light or a full-colour model where night-time identification is particularly important.

Driveways & Front Yards

An active deterrence camera can be a strong choice where you want intelligent detection combined with visible and audible warnings. A compact PTZ may suit larger driveways or yards requiring flexible coverage.

Retail Stores

Vandal-resistant domes suit accessible customer areas, while 180° panoramic cameras can provide exceptionally wide coverage across entrances, shopfronts and open retail spaces.

Warehouses & Commercial Properties

Combine fixed turret, bullet or dome cameras around important entrances and work areas with PTZ surveillance where operators need to inspect larger yards, loading areas or property boundaries.

Car Parks & Large Sites

Consider a PTZ when you need to move between different areas or zoom towards distant activity. Fixed cameras should still cover critical entrances, exits and other areas that require continuous recording.

Build a Complete HiLook CCTV System

A complete HiLook IP CCTV system typically combines cameras with a compatible network video recorder, surveillance hard drive and appropriate network cabling or PoE equipment.
