Aiphone DA-1ASK Single-Door Audio Intercom Kit
Speak with visitors before opening the door with the Aiphone DA-1ASK audio intercom kit. Designed for a single entrance and one internal location, this straightforward two-wire system combines an exterior door station, an indoor handset and the required power supply.
The visitor speaks hands-free at the entrance station, while the person inside answers using the DA-1MD handset for clear, full-duplex communication. A compatible electric door strike can also be released from the internal station, providing convenient entry control without a separate door-release transformer.
Important: The DA-1ASK is an audio-only, one-call intercom system. It does not include video, smartphone access or an electric door strike. How the Aiphone DA-1ASK Works
- The visitor presses the call button on the DA-1DS entrance station.
- The internal DA-1MD handset sounds its call tone.
- The occupant lifts the handset to speak privately with the visitor.
- If a compatible electric strike is installed, the occupant can activate the door release from the tenant station.

Door-Release Compatibility
The DA Series can operate a compatible 9.5–20V AC electric door strike with resistance of 70Ω or higher. Aiphone specifies the EL-12S as a compatible strike. The strike and associated locking hardware are sold separately and should be selected to suit the door, frame and required locking function.

Installation Requirements
The system uses two-conductor cabling between the entrance station and tenant station, with separate two-conductor cabling for the power supply. Maximum cable distance depends on the cable type and conductor size used.
Professional installation is recommended to ensure correct cabling, weather protection, power-supply placement and door-strike compatibility. An installer should also confirm that the proposed cable route and locking hardware comply with the property’s requirements.
