Best For: Car park entrances, boom gates, commercial driveways and controlled vehicle access points needing number plate recognition and integration with a compatible access-control system.
Vivotek IB9387-LPR-V2 5MP Number Plate Recognition Bullet Camera
Identify vehicles at an entrance and use recognised number plates to support access decisions. The Vivotek IB9387-LPR-V2 combines 5MP imaging with embedded licence plate recognition software, a motorised varifocal lens and integration options for parking and access-control systems.
Its 3.2–10.5 mm lens allows the installer to adjust the view around a vehicle lane, while WDR Pro and infrared illumination help manage changing light conditions. The weather-resistant, impact-resistant housing suits outdoor entry and exit points. CTC Communications offers Australia-wide delivery and professional CCTV installation across Sydney.

Number Plate Recognition and Vehicle Access
The embedded LPR application reads number plates and compares them with configured lists. Recognised plates can trigger supported outputs or send events to an integrated access-control system. This can assist with authorised vehicle entry and exception handling at a controlled entrance.
Confirm the supplied LPR software version, licence activation and Australian plate support with CTC before specifying the system. Features such as vehicle attributes and direction recognition depend on the installed application. A compatible controller or barrier system and professional configuration are required for an automated entry solution.
Motorised Lens and Plate Capture Setup
Remote zoom and focus help frame the capture area during commissioning. Number plate recognition depends on more than resolution: mounting height, viewing angle, lane width, vehicle speed, exposure settings and lighting all affect the result.
Plan the camera around the vehicle approach and test plate capture during the day and at night. A broad overview of a car park may need a separate camera so the LPR camera can concentrate on the entry lane.
WDR Pro and Infrared Imaging
WDR Pro helps retain detail in bright and shaded areas. Smart IR II adjusts infrared illumination to help control overexposure. The installer should tune exposure and illumination for number plates rather than relying on a general night-vision distance as a plate-reading guarantee.
Recording and System Integration
The supplied 32 GB microSD card provides storage for LPR images. For longer video retention, plan a compatible recording system with sufficient storage. ONVIF video compatibility does not automatically mean that a third-party recorder supports every LPR event or search function.
Supported APIs and Wiegand communication allow integration with suitable parking and access platforms. Confirm the required integration, software licence and event handling before ordering.
Ideal Applications
- Car park entry and exit lanes
- Commercial boom gates and controlled driveways
- Warehouse and industrial vehicle entrances
- Residential complexes with managed vehicle access
- Parking and weighbridge systems with compatible integration

Power, Accessories and Installation
Use an IEEE 802.3at PoE+ source with an adequate power budget, or a suitable 12 V DC or 24 V AC supply. The camera's maximum PoE consumption is 26 W, so check the switch or recorder's output rating.
Manufacturer-listed accessories include a quick installation guide, alignment sticker, L-shaped wrench, screw pack, waterproof accessory pack and sunshield. Allow separately for network cabling, a suitable power source, any additional brackets, recording equipment and access-control hardware.
Audio support uses an external microphone input and line output; it does not mean a microphone and speaker are built into the camera. Confirm any audio equipment and software requirements for your project.
