Two-Wire IP Video Intercom Kit for Easier Upgrades
The Hikvision DS-KIS702Y-P 2-Wire IP Video Intercom Kit combines the convenience of two-wire installation with HD video, a 7-inch touchscreen and Hik-Connect smartphone access. It is particularly useful when upgrading a compatible existing intercom cable without installing a separate network cable to every intercom device.
The dedicated DS-KAD704Y distributor carries power, data, video, audio and control signals between the door station and indoor monitor over two conductors. When the system is correctly connected and configured, the Hik-Connect app lets authorised users answer calls, view live entrance video, speak with visitors and remotely release a connected door or gate.

How the DS-KAD704Y Two-Wire Distributor Works
The included DS-KAD704Y acts as the central connection point for the intercom. It connects to the property network through its RJ45 interface and distributes power and communication to compatible indoor and outdoor stations through four two-wire device ports.
- Four powered two-wire device connections
- Separate cascade interfaces for compatible Hikvision distributors
- RJ45 network connection
- 24 VDC input from the included power supply
- DIN-rail mounting for a suitable protected indoor location
Hik-Connect Smartphone Control
Hik-Connect gives authorised users greater flexibility when they are away from the indoor monitor or outside the property.
- Receive visitor calls on a compatible smartphone
- View live entrance video
- Speak with visitors using two-way audio
- Remotely release a connected electric lock or gate
- Access the intercom remotely when internet and app services are available
Modular Expansion and Door Control
The DS-KD8003Y-IME2 is part of Hikvision’s modular intercom range. Compatible keypad, card-reader, display, indicator and additional call-button modules can be added when the correct multi-module housing, distributor capacity and system design are selected.
Expansion note: The included surface housing accommodates the main door-station module. Adding submodules requires a suitable larger housing, additional components and professional configuration.
Door hardware note: An electric strike, magnetic lock, gate controller, exit button, door contact, cabling and any additional power equipment must be selected to suit the property and locking arrangement. These items are not included unless specifically stated in the product options or quotation.
Two-Wire Installation Requirements
Two-wire technology can simplify an intercom upgrade, but it does not mean every existing two-core cable is automatically suitable. Cable material, conductor size, condition, joins, polarity, route length and electrical interference must be checked before installation.
- Two suitable conductors between each intercom device and distributor
- Protected indoor position for the distributor and power supply
- Network and internet access for Hik-Connect functions
- Compatible lock or gate hardware for remote entry release
- Correct termination, polarity and system configuration
- Professional installation is recommended
CTC Communications offers Hikvision intercom installation across Sydney, including an assessment of existing cabling, system configuration and advice on suitable lock-release hardware.
Ideal Applications
Existing Intercom Upgrades
Upgrade suitable two-core cabling to a modern video intercom after a professional cable assessment.
Homes and Villas
See and speak with visitors using the indoor touchscreen or a compatible smartphone.
Townhouses and Duplexes
A practical option for an individual residence with an existing or planned two-wire route.
Gated Properties
Suitable for compatible pedestrian gates where video calling and remote release are required.
