Best For: FSH FES20 and FES20M electric strike installations requiring a 50mm extension lip for additional latch clearance on deeper timber, aluminium or metal door frames.
FSH FES20-EL50 50mm Extension Lip for FES20 and FES20M Electric Strikes
The FSH FES20-EL50 Extension Lip is a 50mm accessory designed for compatible FSH FES20 and FES20M high-security electric door strikes. It extends the strike faceplate to provide additional clearance between the door latch and a deeper or wider door-frame profile.
The extension lip helps the latch clear the surrounding frame and enter the electric strike keeper without rubbing, catching or damaging the frame. It is particularly useful on timber, aluminium and metal frames where the standard strike lip does not extend far enough beyond the frame profile.
Key Features
-
50mm extension lip for the FSH FES20 Series
- Compatible with the FES20 non-monitored electric strike
- Compatible with the FES20M fully monitored electric strike
- Provides additional clearance between the latch and door frame
- Allows the latch to move freely into the strike keeper
- Helps prevent contact between the latch and surrounding frame
- Suitable for deeper timber, aluminium and metal frames
- Attaches to the strike’s pre-drilled extension-lip mounting points
- Designed for professional access control installations
Why Use a 50mm Extension Lip?
Some door frames extend well beyond the standard electric strike faceplate. Without sufficient coverage, the door latch can rub against the frame, catch during operation or damage the surrounding surface before reaching the strike keeper.
The FES20-EL50 provides a 50mm extension, making it suitable for deeper frame profiles where a shorter 15mm or 25mm extension lip does not provide enough clearance.
When correctly selected and installed, the extension lip helps guide the latch into the electric strike jaw while protecting the door frame and improving the appearance of the installation.
Compatible Electric Strikes
-
FSH FES20: high-security, non-monitored electric strike
-
FSH FES20M: high-security, fully monitored electric strike
Both FES20 Series models are pre-drilled for compatible extension lips, allowing the FES20-EL50 to be securely attached without modifying the strike’s internal locking mechanism.

Selecting the Correct Extension Length
FSH extension lips are available in several lengths to accommodate different door-frame depths and profiles. Measure the distance between the electric strike faceplate and the outside edge of the frame before ordering.
The FES20-EL50 provides a 50mm extension. A shorter 15mm or 25mm lip may suit a shallower frame, while the FES20-EL75 may be required where substantially more coverage is needed.
Installation Note
The extension lip should be securely attached to the pre-drilled mounting points on the compatible FES20 or FES20M electric strike. Once installed, the door latch should enter the keeper freely without rubbing, binding or placing sideways pressure on the strike mechanism.
Installation should be completed by a qualified locksmith, security technician or access control installer. Confirm the electric strike model, frame depth and required extension length before ordering.
