FSH FEM4300D Slimline Double Magnetic Door Lock – Non-Monitored, 280kg, 12/24V DC

The FSH FEM4300D is a slimline double electromagnetic door lock designed to secure pairs of access-controlled doors. It incorporates two magnetic locks, with each magnet providing a holding strength of up to 280kg.

Designed for fail-safe, Power To Lock operation, the FEM4300D supports field-selectable 12V or 24V DC input and releases the doors when power is removed. Its slimline surface-mount housing makes it suitable for commercial entrances where available mounting space and appearance are important.

This is the non-monitored model and does not include Lock Status Sensor, Door Status Sensor or LED status indication. For these monitoring functions, consider the FSH FEM4300DM monitored double magnetic lock.

Key Features of the FSH FEM4300D

  • Double magnetic door lock for pairs of access-controlled doors
  • Up to 280kg holding strength per magnetic lock
  • Non-monitored configuration without LSS or DSS outputs
  • Slimline surface-mount design
  • Field-selectable 12V or 24V DC operation
  • Fail-safe, Power To Lock operation
  • Built-in MOV surge protection
  • No residual magnetism when power is removed
  • Satin anodised aluminium housing
  • Zinc-plated electromagnetic lock body
  • Two carbon-free steel armature plates
  • Fire tested for up to 2 hours, subject to the approved doorset
  • Five-year manufacturer warranty

Designed for Double-Door Entrances

The FEM4300D combines two electromagnetic locks within a single double-door housing. Each magnet operates with its own armature plate, allowing both door leaves to be secured as part of the same access control system.

Its slimline construction is well suited to office foyers, retail entrances, commercial buildings and controlled staff areas where a low-profile double magnetic lock is required.

Fail-Safe Magnetic Locking

The FSH FEM4300D operates in fail-safe or Power To Lock mode. Electrical power is applied to hold the doors secure, and the locks release when power is removed.

This operating method allows the lock to be integrated with compatible access control systems, emergency exit devices and fire-alarm interfaces. Emergency release and egress requirements must be considered as part of the complete door installation.

Non-Monitored Configuration

The FEM4300D is designed for installations where lock and door status feedback is not required. It does not include:

  • Lock Status Sensor (LSS)
  • Door Status Sensor (DSS)
  • Red and green lock status LED

If these monitoring functions are required, the corresponding monitored model is the FSH FEM4300DM.

Dual-Voltage 12/24V DC Operation

Field-selectable 12V or 24V DC operation provides flexibility when integrating the FEM4300D with access control panels, intercom systems, card readers, keypads and professional access control power supplies.

The complete double lock draws approximately 1A at 12V DC or 500mA at 24V DC. The power supply should be sized to accommodate the magnetic lock, access controller and any other connected devices.

No Residual Magnetism

The FEM4300D is designed without residual magnetism after power is removed. This helps the doors release cleanly and reduces unnecessary resistance when users open the doors following an authorised access request or emergency release.

Frequently Asked Questions Magnetic Door Locks

Magnetic door locks work by using a magnet to hold the door closed. The magnet is typically located on the door frame, and the metal armature is located on the door. When the door is closed, the magnet and armature come together and create a strong magnetic force that holds the door in place.

  • Monitored magnetic door locks are connected to a central security system. This allows the system to monitor the status of the door and to generate an alarm if the door is opened without authorization.
  • Monitored magnetic door locks are more secure than non-monitored door locks, but they are also more expensive.
  • Non-monitored magnetic door locks are not connected to a central security system. This means that they cannot generate an alarm if the door is opened without authorization.
  • Non-monitored magnetic door locks are less secure than monitored door locks, but they are also less expensive.
  • Magnetic door locks are used in a variety of commercial and industrial settings, including:
  • Office buildings
  • Schools
  • Hospitals
  • Hotels
  • Retail stores
  • Warehouses
  • Factories

Magnetic door locks are very difficult to pick or force open, making them a good choice for securing valuable assets. However, it is important to note that no lock is completely foolproof, and a determined thief may still be able to break into a door that is secured with a magnetic lock.

Installing a magnetic door lock is a relatively simple process that can be completed in a few minutes. The first step is to mark the location of the magnet and armature on the door frame and door. Once the locations are marked, the magnet and armature can be attached using the included screws.

If your magnetic door lock is not working properly, there are a few things you can check. First, make sure that the magnet and armature are properly aligned. If they are not, the lock will not be able to create a strong enough magnetic force to hold the door closed. Second, check the wiring to make sure that there are no loose or damaged connections. Finally, check the power supply to make sure that it is providing enough power to the lock.

  • Magnetic door locks are very secure. They are difficult to defeat, even by experienced burglars.
  • Magnetic door locks are very reliable. They are not subject to mechanical failure, like traditional door locks.
  • Magnetic door locks are very convenient. They can be opened with a key card, a key fob, or a password.
