Best For: Double commercial doors, controlled staff entrances and secure access points requiring high-strength fail-safe magnetic locking without door or lock status monitoring.
FSH FEM5700D Standard Double Magnetic Door Lock – Non-Monitored, 580kg, 12/24V DC
The FSH FEM5700D is a standard double electromagnetic door lock designed for commercial access control installations requiring strong and reliable fail-safe locking across two door leaves. It incorporates two magnetic locks, with each magnet providing a holding strength of up to 580kg.
Operating from field-selectable 12V or 24V DC power, the FEM5700D provides fail-safe, Power To Lock operation and releases both doors when electrical power is removed. It is suitable for compatible access control panels, intercom systems, card readers, keypads and door controllers where monitoring outputs are not required.

High-Strength Locking for Double Doors
The FEM5700D combines two full-sized electromagnetic locks in a single double-door housing. Each magnetic lock operates with its own armature plate and provides up to 580kg holding strength for the corresponding door leaf.
This configuration makes the FEM5700D suitable for wider commercial entrances where both doors must be secured through the same access control system.
Non-Monitored Configuration
The FSH FEM5700D is the non-monitored double-door model in the FEM5700 Series. It does not include:
- Lock Status Sensor (LSS)
- Door Status Sensor (DSS)
- Long-distance Light Panel (LP)
- Remote door or lock status outputs
Where these monitoring functions are required, the corresponding monitored double-door model is the FSH FEM5700DM.
Fail-Safe Magnetic Locking
The FEM5700D operates in fail-safe or Power To Lock mode. Power is applied to secure the two door leaves, and both magnetic locks release when electrical power is removed.
This operating method allows the lock to be integrated with compatible emergency exit devices, break-glass units, access control panels and fire-alarm interfaces. Emergency egress requirements must be considered when designing the complete locking system.
Dual-Voltage 12/24V DC Operation
Field-selectable 12V or 24V DC operation provides flexibility when connecting the FEM5700D to professional access control power supplies.
Each magnetic lock draws approximately:
- 500mA at 12V DC
- 260mA at 24V DC
For the complete double lock, allow approximately 1A at 12V DC or 520mA at 24V DC. The power supply must also accommodate the access controller and any other connected devices.
No Residual Magnetism
The FEM5700D is designed without residual magnetism after power is removed. This helps both door leaves release cleanly following an authorised access request, emergency release or interruption to the power supply.

Ideal Applications
- Double commercial entry doors
- Office and administration buildings
- Controlled staff entrances
- Retail premises and shopping centres
- Education and healthcare facilities
- Apartment and shared-building entrances
- Access control systems not requiring monitoring outputs
Optional Anti-Tamper Protection
The non-monitored FEM5700D is not supplied with anti-tamper plates as standard. Where additional protection for the armature plate fixings is required, compatible FEM5700SEC retrofit Anti-Tamper Security Plates may be considered.
The number required, compatibility and current availability should be confirmed before ordering.
Fire-Rated Door Applications
The FEM5700D has been fire tested for up to four hours to applicable Australian and British fire test standards. Suitability depends on the complete doorset, mounting arrangement and fire-door manufacturer requirements.
Approval must be confirmed before installing the magnetic lock on fire-rated doors.
Installation Note
The FSH FEM5700D should be installed by a qualified security or access control technician. Door alignment, mounting brackets, power supply capacity, cable protection, emergency release devices and fire-alarm integration must be considered during system design.
An appropriate double L&Z bracket may be required where the doors and frame do not support standard direct mounting.
