FSH FEM4300DM Slimline Double Magnetic Door Lock – Monitored LSS/DSS, 280kg, 12/24V DC

The FSH FEM4300DM is a slimline, monitored double electromagnetic door lock designed for access-controlled pairs of doors. It incorporates two magnetic locks, with each magnet providing a holding strength of up to 280kg.

Designed for fail-safe, Power To Lock operation, the FEM4300DM supports field-selectable 12V or 24V DC input. Integrated Lock Status Sensors, Door Status Sensors and red/green LED indication provide valuable feedback to compatible access control and building management systems.

The surface-mount design, slimline aluminium housing and comprehensive monitoring functions make the FEM4300DM suitable for professional commercial installations where door and lock status must be monitored.

Lock and Door Status Monitoring

The FEM4300DM provides two important monitoring functions for compatible access control systems:

  • LSS – Lock Status Sensor: provides feedback on whether the magnetic lock has achieved a secure locked condition.
  • DSS – Door Status Sensor: provides feedback on whether the corresponding door leaf is open or closed.

These monitoring outputs allow the access control system to identify conditions such as a door being held open, failing to close correctly or not achieving a secure lock status.

Red and Green LED Status Indication

Integrated red and green LED indication provides an immediate visual reference for the lock status. This helps installers, security personnel and building managers quickly identify whether the magnetic locks are secure or released.

The LEDs complement the LSS and DSS outputs by providing convenient status information at the doorway.

Designed for Double-Door Entrances

The FEM4300DM combines two electromagnetic locks in a single double-door housing. Each magnetic lock operates with its own armature plate and monitoring functions, allowing both door leaves to be secured and monitored as part of the same access control system.

Its slimline construction is suitable for commercial entrances where space, appearance and reliable locking are important considerations.

Fail-Safe Magnetic Locking

The FSH FEM4300DM operates in fail-safe or Power To Lock mode. Electrical power is applied to secure the doors, and the magnetic locks release when power is removed.

This allows the lock to be integrated with compatible access control systems, emergency exit devices and fire-alarm interfaces. Emergency release and egress requirements must be considered as part of the complete installation.

Dual-Voltage 12/24V DC Operation

Field-selectable 12V or 24V DC operation allows the FEM4300DM to be used with a wide range of access control panels, intercom systems, credential readers and professional power supplies.

Each magnetic lock draws approximately 500mA at 12V DC or 250mA at 24V DC. For the complete double lock, allow approximately 1A at 12V DC or 500mA at 24V DC.

No Residual Magnetism

The FEM4300DM is designed without residual magnetism after power is removed. This helps both door leaves release cleanly following an authorised access request, emergency release or interruption to the power supply.

Frequently Asked Questions Magnetic Door Locks

Magnetic door locks work by using a magnet to hold the door closed. The magnet is typically located on the door frame, and the metal armature is located on the door. When the door is closed, the magnet and armature come together and create a strong magnetic force that holds the door in place.

  • Monitored magnetic door locks are connected to a central security system. This allows the system to monitor the status of the door and to generate an alarm if the door is opened without authorization.
  • Monitored magnetic door locks are more secure than non-monitored door locks, but they are also more expensive.
  • Non-monitored magnetic door locks are not connected to a central security system. This means that they cannot generate an alarm if the door is opened without authorization.
  • Non-monitored magnetic door locks are less secure than monitored door locks, but they are also less expensive.
  • Magnetic door locks are used in a variety of commercial and industrial settings, including:
  • Office buildings
  • Schools
  • Hospitals
  • Hotels
  • Retail stores
  • Warehouses
  • Factories

Magnetic door locks are very difficult to pick or force open, making them a good choice for securing valuable assets. However, it is important to note that no lock is completely foolproof, and a determined thief may still be able to break into a door that is secured with a magnetic lock.

Installing a magnetic door lock is a relatively simple process that can be completed in a few minutes. The first step is to mark the location of the magnet and armature on the door frame and door. Once the locations are marked, the magnet and armature can be attached using the included screws.

If your magnetic door lock is not working properly, there are a few things you can check. First, make sure that the magnet and armature are properly aligned. If they are not, the lock will not be able to create a strong enough magnetic force to hold the door closed. Second, check the wiring to make sure that there are no loose or damaged connections. Finally, check the power supply to make sure that it is providing enough power to the lock.

  • Magnetic door locks are very secure. They are difficult to defeat, even by experienced burglars.
  • Magnetic door locks are very reliable. They are not subject to mechanical failure, like traditional door locks.
  • Magnetic door locks are very convenient. They can be opened with a key card, a key fob, or a password.
