The TP-Link VIGI C540-4G with 4 mm lens combines 4MP video, motorised pan and tilt, automatic tracking and human and vehicle classification. Its built-in 4G connection lets you monitor a suitable site without relying on Wi-Fi or fixed broadband.

Detection and illumination performance depend on positioning, scene conditions and configuration. Pan-and-tilt movement does not provide simultaneous coverage in every direction.

Power, Mobile Coverage and Solar Compatibility

The camera requires 12 V DC / 1 A power through a 5.5 mm coaxial power connection. The standard package includes a power adaptor. The 4G connection replaces fixed internet—not the power supply.

For mobile access, use a compatible Nano-SIM with an active data plan and adequate 4G coverage at the installation point. Check carrier compatibility and signal strength before purchase. Data use varies with video quality, viewing time and recording settings.

Off-grid use requires a separately purchased, compatible VIGI solar power system. Ask CTC to confirm the camera connection and size the system for your location and operating requirements. Solar runtime depends on sunlight, panel orientation, battery condition and equipment load; uninterrupted operation in all weather is not guaranteed.

Included and Not Included

Standard manufacturer package: VIGI network camera, power adaptor, quick start guide, waterproof cable attachments and mounting accessories.

Not included: Nano-SIM, mobile data plan, microSD card, solar panel and battery system, mounting pole, additional site cabling and installation. Confirm any special mounting requirements with CTC before ordering.

VIGI App Setup and Local Recording

1. Check mobile coverage and activate your compatible Nano-SIM and data plan.
2. With the camera powered off, fit the SIM and optional microSD card according to the quick start guide, then connect the power supply.
3. Install the VIGI app, create or sign in to your account and follow its device-addition instructions. Complete any carrier/APN configuration required.
4. Set a secure device password, check live viewing and configure notifications, detection areas and tracking.
5. If using a microSD card, initialise it and configure the recording schedule. Test recording playback before leaving the site.

Local microSD recording and remote 4G viewing are separate functions. Remote access requires a working data connection; recording requires suitable storage and configuration. Refer to the official VIGI app information for supported features.

Installation and Documentation

Position the camera to suit the area being monitored, check mobile signal at the final mounting location and protect power connections from weather. Professional installation is recommended for pole mounting, remote sites and solar integration.
