Optex FlipX Dual-Technology PIR and Microwave Detector with Bracket

The Optex FlipX FLX-S-DT-BKT is a hard-wired indoor motion detector combining passive infrared and microwave sensing for dependable intrusion detection. Dual-technology verification helps improve detection reliability and reduce unwanted alarms in suitable homes, offices, retail spaces and commercial environments.

Its rotatable Flip Lens allows the installer to select either a 12-metre, 85-degree wide pattern or an 18-metre, 5-degree narrow pattern. A compatible wall and ceiling mounting bracket is included for flexible positioning.

How Dual-Technology Detection Works

The FLX-S-DT uses both PIR and microwave technologies to assess movement within the protected area. Combining two detection methods can provide greater confidence in a genuine intrusion event and help reduce nuisance alarms caused by conditions that may affect only one sensing technology.

Detector performance still depends on correct placement, wiring, sensitivity settings, room conditions and professional walk testing.

Wide or Narrow Detection Coverage

The FlipX lens can be rotated during installation to suit the protected area:

12 metres wide at 85 degrees: suited to rooms, offices, living areas and open indoor spaces
18 metres narrow at 5 degrees: suited to corridors, hallways and longer indoor approaches

Coverage depends on mounting height, detector angle, obstructions, temperature conditions and the final installation environment.

Pet-Tolerant Detection

The detector includes pet-tolerant functionality intended to reduce unwanted alarms caused by suitable household pets. Correct mounting height, lens orientation and room selection are essential. Pet tolerance does not guarantee that every animal movement will be ignored, particularly where pets can climb onto furniture or move close to the detector.

FLX-S-DT or FLX-S-ST?

Choose the FLX-S-DT-BKT when dual PIR and microwave detection is preferred for additional detection verification.

Choose the FLX-S-ST-BKT when a standard PIR-only detector is suitable for the installation. Both models provide selectable wide or narrow coverage and include a mounting bracket.

Alarm System Compatibility

The FLX-S-DT-BKT is a hard-wired detector for compatible intrusion alarm control panels. It requires alarm-panel power, zone wiring and correct end-of-line configuration. It is not a wireless detector and does not connect directly to a smartphone app.

Confirm the control-panel voltage, zone input requirements, resistor values and available auxiliary power before ordering. It may be suitable for selected Hills Reliance alarm systems and other compatible hard-wired alarm platforms when installed correctly.

Professional Installation

Correct placement is essential for both sensing technologies. Avoid unsuitable positions near windows, heaters, air-conditioning outlets, moving objects or other sources that may interfere with reliable detection. The microwave range should remain within the intended protected area.

good morning, I am really unhappy about the support I got from your company when I called for support. I was asked to send all my credentials including passcode and then I didn't hear back from CTC for 24 hrs. At the end if the second day waiting I was told that CTC can't connect to my system. The replacement receiver is somewhat configured different from the older version,
As I have two working receivers switching relays, on an outside PE Beams. every 10 or so on - off from new and older tranmitters, , the new relay button 3, stops working. only older receiver switch's, need to push button 3 on- off 2 -3 times than comes good for the next 10 or so On - off. other than that, good, I have been using the NX panels and receivers long before the re naming. I have work in the Electrical and security for over 40 years. from the old days when keys and toggles operated alarm panel.
