Best For: Dedicated vehicle entry and exit points at commercial car parks, strata properties and industrial sites where number plate recognition needs to work with an access-control system.
Vivotek IB9387-LPR-V3 5MP Number Plate Recognition Camera
The Vivotek IB9387-LPR-V3 with 2.7–13.5mm motorised lens (V version) brings a dedicated plate-recognition application together with adjustable framing and access-control integration. Choose this short-lens model when a site assessment calls for a wider view or a closer vehicle capture point.
Key Features
-
5MP video at 30fps for detailed vehicle footage.
-
Motorised 2.7–13.5mm P-iris lens with remote zoom and focus.
-
Embedded VaxALPR software with a licence required for the application.
-
Wiegand support and integrated converter for compatible access-control installations.
-
Built-in infrared illumination and WDR Pro to manage changing light.
-
IP66/IP67 and IK10 protection for exposed outdoor locations.
Plan the Capture Point Before Choosing the Lens
A plate-recognition camera needs a controlled view of the vehicle approach. Mounting height, viewing angle, vehicle speed, lighting and plate size within the image all affect results. The motorised lens helps the installer set the required framing without changing the camera position.
General CCTV identification distances do not guarantee number plate recognition. Ask CTC to assess the lane layout and capture distance before selecting between the short-lens and long-lens versions.
Connect Plate Recognition with Access Control
The V version uses VaxALPR and supports integration with VAST2/VSS and compatible third-party platforms. Wiegand support gives an integrator another connection option for a suitable access-control solution.
Licence and compatibility check: Confirm the required VaxALPR licence, Australian number plate coverage and controller/software compatibility before ordering. A barrier controller, gate equipment and system configuration are separate parts of the installation.
Outdoor Imaging and Installation
Infrared illumination supports night capture, while WDR Pro helps manage difficult contrast. Correct exposure and lane lighting remain essential for readable plates. No plate-reading distance is promised without a site assessment.
PoE simplifies cabling, with DC and AC power options available. External audio connections support two-way communication when suitable microphone and speaker equipment is connected.
