Why Choose HiLook CCTV?
HiLook delivers practical intelligent CCTV technology at a competitive price, making it particularly well suited to residential and small-to-medium commercial security installations.
The IPC-T289H-MU/SL is an excellent choice for customers looking for:
- 8MP 4K image quality
- Human and vehicle intelligent detection
- Visible and audible active deterrence
- Two-way audio communication
- Colour event footage at night
- Wide-angle surveillance coverage
- Local microSD recording capability
- Simple PoE installation
8MP 4K Ultra-High-Definition Surveillance
The IPC-T289H-MU/SL provides a maximum resolution of 3840 × 2160, delivering detailed 4K surveillance footage for everyday monitoring and recorded event review.
The increased image detail is particularly useful around entrances, driveways, shopfronts and other areas where recognising people, vehicles and activity may be important.
Human and Vehicle Intelligent Detection
Deep-learning technology allows the camera to classify human and vehicle targets, helping the CCTV system focus on events that are more likely to be security-related.
Compared with basic motion detection, intelligent classification can help reduce unnecessary alerts caused by unrelated movement such as animals, foliage and environmental activity.
Active Deterrence with Red & Blue Warning Lights
A key advantage of the IPC-T289H-MU/SL is its ability to provide an immediate visible and audible response when configured security events occur.
- Red and blue flashing warning lights
- Built-in audible alarm
- White-light illumination
- Remote two-way communication
These features make the camera particularly suitable for locations where warning a potential intruder that they have been detected may help discourage further activity.
Smart Hybrid Light for Better Night Surveillance
Smart Hybrid Light combines infrared and white-light illumination to provide flexible monitoring after dark.
-
Infrared Mode – Provides discreet black-and-white surveillance without continuous visible lighting
-
White-Light Mode – Adds visible illumination to help capture useful colour detail
-
Smart Hybrid Operation – Allows the lighting response to work with configured intelligent events
The camera provides illumination at distances of up to 30 metres, making it suitable for entrances, driveways, car parks, side access areas and commercial properties.
Colour Detail When an Event Occurs
White-light illumination can provide additional colour information when configured events occur after dark.
Colour footage may provide useful evidence such as:
- Vehicle colour
- Clothing colour
- Objects being carried
- Activity around entrances or access points
Two-Way Audio for Real-Time Communication
The IPC-T289H-MU/SL includes built-in microphones and a speaker, allowing compatible systems to provide two-way audio communication.
This can be useful for:
- Warning unwanted visitors
- Speaking with delivery drivers
- Communicating at entrances
- Responding to after-hours security events
- Managing unmanned access points
Wide 2.8mm Lens for Broad Coverage
The fixed 2.8mm lens provides an approximately 108° horizontal field of view, making this camera suitable for broad surveillance coverage.
Ideal locations include:
- Front entrances
- Driveways
- Garages
- Retail shopfronts
- Office entrances
- Car parks
- Loading areas
- Side and rear access points
120dB True WDR for Challenging Lighting
The camera's 120dB true Wide Dynamic Range helps retain useful image detail where bright and dark areas appear within the same scene.
This is particularly useful around doorways, shopfronts, garages and entrances affected by strong sunlight or backlighting.
Local Storage up to 512GB
The IPC-T289H-MU/SL includes a microSD card slot supporting compatible storage of up to 512GB.
Local edge storage can provide additional recording flexibility and can complement footage stored on a compatible network video recorder.
For multi-camera CCTV systems requiring longer footage retention, connection to a compatible NVR with a surveillance hard drive is recommended.
PoE for Simple Network Camera Installation
The IPC-T289H-MU/SL supports Power over Ethernet, allowing power and network data to travel through a single Ethernet cable when connected to compatible PoE equipment.
This simplifies cabling and makes the camera suitable for new CCTV systems and compatible network-camera upgrades.
Efficient H.265+ Video Compression
H.265+ compression helps reduce network bandwidth and recording storage requirements while maintaining useful video quality.
This is particularly beneficial with an 8MP camera because 4K video generates more data than lower-resolution surveillance footage.
HiLook NVR Compatibility
The IPC-T289H-MU/SL is a PoE IP network camera designed for use with compatible HiLook network video recorders and network CCTV systems.
If you're purchasing this camera as an upgrade or replacement, check that your NVR supports 8MP resolution, PoE connectivity, two-way audio and the intelligent active-deterrence features required.

IPC-T269H-MU/SL or IPC-T289H-MU/SL?
Both cameras provide Smart Hybrid Light, human and vehicle detection, active warning features and two-way audio. The main difference is image resolution:
-
IPC-T269H-MU/SL – 6MP All-in-One active deterrence camera offering excellent detail and value
-
IPC-T289H-MU/SL – 8MP 4K All-in-One active deterrence camera for customers wanting maximum image detail
Choose the IPC-T289H-MU/SL where 4K resolution is the priority, or the 6MP IPC-T269H-MU/SL where excellent intelligent surveillance is required at a lower price point.
IPC-T289H-MU/SL or 180° IPC-T289PH-MU/SL?
These two 8MP models suit different camera positions:
-
IPC-T289H-MU/SL – Conventional 108° wide-angle view, ideal when the camera is focused on one primary area
-
IPC-T289PH-MU/SL – Dual-lens panoramic model providing approximately 180° coverage for very wide scenes
For driveways, entrances and conventional camera positions, the IPC-T289H-MU/SL is often the more practical choice. For wide shopfronts, courtyards, loading areas and locations where one camera needs to see almost wall-to-wall, consider the panoramic model.
