The Bosch Solution 12V 7Ah Alarm Backup Battery provides reliable standby power for compatible Bosch security alarm panels during a mains power failure.
Designed for use with selected Bosch Solution alarm systems, this sealed rechargeable lead-acid battery is maintenance-free and uses convenient push-on terminals for straightforward replacement.
Suitable for compatible Bosch alarm panels and sourced directly from Bosch.
Before ordering, check the voltage, capacity, physical dimensions, terminal type and polarity of your existing battery to confirm compatibility.
Once installed, the alarm panel will recharge the replacement battery automatically while mains power is available. A fully charged 12V alarm battery will typically measure above its nominal 12V rating while connected to the charging system.
A low-battery indication may remain on the keypad for several hours after replacement while the new battery charges. If the battery fault does not clear, the alarm panel or charging circuit may require inspection by a qualified security technician.
Important: Alarm control panels may contain mains-voltage wiring. Do not touch transformers, mains terminals or exposed electrical wiring inside the enclosure. If you are unsure about replacing the battery safely, contact a qualified security technician.
Step 1 – Notify Your Monitoring Centre
If your alarm system is professionally monitored, contact the monitoring centre before opening the alarm panel. This helps prevent an unnecessary alarm response or patrol attendance.
Step 2 – Disarm the Alarm System
Disarm your alarm system and keep your user code available. Opening the control-panel enclosure may activate a tamper alarm.
Step 3 – Locate the Alarm Control Panel
The alarm control panel is commonly installed in a cupboard, walk-in robe, garage, storeroom or utility area. The backup battery is located inside this enclosure.
Step 4 – Open the Control Panel Carefully
Use the panel key or remove the cover screws as required. Avoid touching any mains-voltage components or exposed wiring inside the enclosure.
Step 5 – Disconnect and Remove the Old Battery
Disconnect the black negative lead first, followed by the red positive lead. Avoid allowing tools or battery connectors to bridge the two terminals, as this can cause a short circuit.
Carefully remove the old battery and dispose of it through an approved battery recycling facility. Sealed lead-acid batteries should not be placed in household rubbish.
Step 6 – Install the New Battery
Position the replacement battery securely inside the control panel. Connect the red lead to the positive terminal, followed by the black lead to the negative terminal.
Check that both battery connectors are firmly attached and that the polarity is correct. Replace and secure the alarm-panel cover and allow the battery time to recharge.
If the system is monitored, contact your monitoring centre once the replacement is complete.

Please note: Battery life varies depending on age, charging conditions, power outages and the condition of the alarm panel. If your replacement battery repeatedly reports a low-battery fault, professional servicing may be required.
