6MP vs 8MP / 4K

6MP turret cameras provide excellent detail for most homes, retail stores, offices and commercial entrances while keeping storage and bandwidth requirements more moderate.

8MP / 4K turret cameras provide greater detail for wider scenes, larger commercial areas and applications where digital zoom during playback is important.

Resolution is only one part of camera selection. Lens choice, lighting, mounting position, analytics and required identification distance should also be considered.

180° Panoramic Turret Cameras

Hikvision panoramic turret cameras use dual sensors and lenses to create a single ultra-wide image. They are especially useful for car parks, retail frontages, loading zones, wide driveways and building entrances where a standard fixed camera may leave blind spots.

IP vs Turbo HD Analogue Turret Cameras

IP turret cameras are generally paired with a compatible Hikvision NVR and provide the widest range of analytics, high-resolution recording and integration features.

Turbo HD analogue cameras are designed for compatible DVR systems and coaxial cabling. They can be an excellent upgrade path where existing coaxial infrastructure is already installed.

Current Hikvision analogue turret options include 3K, 5MP and 8MP / 4K models, with selected cameras offering ColorVu, Smart Hybrid Light and audio over coax.

Specialist Anti-Corrosion Turret Camera

For coastal, marine, industrial and chemically aggressive environments, Hikvision offers a specialist polymer anti-corrosion turret with enhanced protection including IP68, IK10, NEMA 4X and C5 anti-corrosion ratings.

This type of camera is designed for waterfront properties, docks, industrial facilities and other demanding locations where a standard camera housing may not provide enough long-term protection.
