Can Existing Alarm Equipment Be Reused?
The kit is designed as a control-panel upgrade and may allow compatible Hills Reliance detectors, reed switches, sirens and existing cabling to be retained. Reusing suitable equipment can reduce disruption and upgrade costs.
Compatibility is not universal. The existing keypad, wireless devices, zone wiring, resistors, power supply location and siren circuit should be assessed before installation. Faulty, obsolete or incompatible components may need replacement.

UltraSync+ Smartphone App and Internet Requirements
The XR panel includes onboard Ethernet connectivity for connection to a compatible internet router. Once professionally configured with UltraSync+, users can remotely arm or disarm the alarm, receive event notifications, check supported door and window zones, view system status and review event history.
Important: onboard IP connectivity uses an Ethernet cable. Wi-Fi or 4G operation requires a compatible additional module. App availability, cloud services, remote access and professional monitoring may require account setup or ongoing service charges.
Wired and Wireless Compatibility
The Reliance XR is a hybrid alarm panel. It supports hard-wired zones and includes an onboard ITI wireless receiver for compatible wireless detectors, reed switches and remote controls.
Wireless compatibility depends on the device technology and model; not every Hills or third-party wireless product is supported. Confirm compatibility before ordering additional equipment.
Power, Programming and Installation
The panel operates from the included 16V plug-pack power supply and uses the included 12V battery for backup during a mains power interruption. A suitable nearby power outlet is required.
This is not a plug-and-play replacement. The old panel must be safely disconnected, zone wiring transferred, end-of-line values checked, compatible equipment tested, the system programmed and UltraSync+ commissioned. Professional installation is recommended.
XR or XR Pro?
The Reliance XR is suited to many residential and small-business upgrades requiring up to 24 zones and four areas. Choose the XR Pro where the property needs substantially greater zone capacity, more areas, more users or broader expansion options.
