DarkFighter Low-Light Imaging and 60m Infrared
Powered by DarkFighter technology and the F1.0 aperture help make use of available light. When the scene is dark, infrared illumination provides black-and-white imaging. This model does not use ColorVu white-light illumination or Smart Hybrid Light.
The 60m figure is an illumination rating, not a guaranteed identification distance. Subject movement, lens choice, exposure and positioning affect the detail captured. Keep nearby reflective walls and eaves out of the immediate foreground where possible to reduce IR reflections.
Human and Vehicle Detection for Perimeter Events
AcuSense classification helps supported motion and perimeter rules focus on people and vehicles. Line crossing, intrusion, region entrance and region exiting can be configured around access paths, gates and site boundaries.
Detection can reduce irrelevant alerts, but does not eliminate all unwanted notifications. Set appropriate detection zones, schedules and sensitivity, then test the rules at the site. Recorder event handling and search functions depend on compatibility and firmware.
Selecting the Fixed Lens
The model family offers 2.8mm and 4mm fixed lenses. The 2.8mm option provides a wider 114.8° horizontal view; the 4mm option provides a narrower 94° horizontal view. The lens is fixed rather than a motorised zoom.
The listed colour variants and SKUs do not identify lens size. Confirm the supplied lens with CTC Communications before ordering if your installation requires a particular view. Lens and camera position should be selected around the detail you need to capture.
Video Monitoring Without Built-In Audio
The DS-2CD2T66G2H-2I does not include a built-in microphone, speaker or warning strobe. If audio recording, two-way communication or active deterrence is required, CTC Communications can help select a suitable alternative from our Hikvision bullet cameras.
Recording, Power and Remote Viewing
Connect the camera to a compatible Hikvision network video recorder for central recording. Confirm support for the 6MP stream, incoming bandwidth and required event functions. Storage capacity and recording schedule determine how long footage is retained.
A compatible microSD card up to 512GB provides local recording storage. PoE supplies power and data over one Ethernet cable through a compatible PoE switch or NVR port. A suitable 12V DC supply is an alternative; this model does not provide Wi-Fi connectivity.
Hik-Connect can provide remote live viewing, playback and event notifications through a compatible, correctly configured camera or NVR network setup with internet access. Available functions depend on the recorder, firmware and configuration.
Outdoor Housing and Suitable Applications
The metal body, front cover and bracket have an IP67 dust and water resistance rating. Protect cable connections and select suitable mounting hardware. This model has no specialist anti-corrosion protection specified, so site conditions should be considered for exposed coastal or industrial locations.
