Hikvision 16 Channel AcuSense Turbo HD DVR
The Hikvision iDS-7216HUHI-M2/XT 16 Channel AcuSense DVR
combines reliable CCTV recording with intelligent human and vehicle
classification. It is designed for larger homes, retail stores, offices,
warehouses and commercial properties requiring a flexible recorder for
analogue, Turbo HD and compatible IP cameras.
With 16 analogue BNC inputs, expandable IP camera support,
two SATA hard-drive bays and intelligent AcuSense functions, this recorder
is particularly useful when upgrading an existing coaxial CCTV system
without replacing the installed camera cabling.
Best For
Upgrading an existing 16-camera analogue or Turbo HD CCTV system while
retaining the installed coaxial cabling. It is also suitable for hybrid
surveillance systems combining existing analogue cameras with selected
compatible IP cameras.
Key Features
-
16 analogue camera inputs: Connect up to 16 supported
cameras through the recorder’s BNC video inputs.
-
Hybrid camera compatibility: Supports HDTVI, AHD,
HDCVI, CVBS and compatible IP camera formats.
-
AcuSense human and vehicle classification: Helps
distinguish people and vehicles from other movement to reduce
unnecessary alerts.
-
Motion Detection 2.0: Provides intelligent event
classification across supported analogue channels.
-
Facial recognition: Supports facial recognition
functions on up to four channels when correctly configured.
-
Perimeter protection: Supports intelligent line-crossing
and intrusion detection on selected channels.
-
AcuSearch: Helps locate recorded human and vehicle
events more quickly than manually reviewing an entire recording timeline.
-
H.265 Pro+ compression: Reduces video storage and
bandwidth requirements while maintaining useful recorded image quality.
-
Dual hard-drive bays: Two SATA interfaces provide
flexible surveillance storage options.
-
Hik-Connect remote access: View live cameras, review
recordings and receive supported event notifications remotely.
Upgrade Existing Coaxial CCTV Systems
The iDS-7216HUHI-M2/XT is a practical choice for properties with existing
coaxial camera cabling. Its multi-format inputs support compatible HDTVI,
AHD, HDCVI and traditional CVBS cameras, allowing many existing cameras and
cable runs to remain in use during a recorder upgrade.
Compatible IP cameras can also be introduced where required, providing a
flexible path for staged CCTV upgrades. IP channel capacity and the final
analogue/IP camera combination depend on the recorder configuration,
selected resolutions and available network bandwidth.
AcuSense Human and Vehicle Detection
Conventional motion detection can be activated by trees, insects, changing
light, rain and other environmental movement. Hikvision AcuSense technology
uses deep-learning algorithms to classify supported events as
human or vehicle activity.
This can reduce irrelevant alerts and make it easier to find important
incidents during playback. Motion Detection 2.0, perimeter protection and
AcuSearch functions provide more efficient event management than a
traditional motion-only DVR.
Facial Recognition and Intelligent Search
The recorder supports facial recognition functions on up to four channels,
including face picture capture and comparison when used with suitable
cameras and correct positioning. This can assist with monitored entrances,
reception areas and other controlled access points.
AcuSearch further simplifies investigations by allowing supported human
and vehicle events to be located without reviewing hours of unrelated
footage.
Flexible Recording and Storage
H.265 Pro+ compression helps reduce storage consumption, making better use
of the available hard-drive capacity. The recorder includes two SATA bays,
with support for compatible surveillance-grade hard drives.
The correct storage capacity will depend on the number of cameras,
recording resolution, frame rate, compression settings and required
footage-retention period.
Hard Drive Not Included:
This recorder is supplied without an installed hard drive. A compatible
surveillance-grade hard drive is required before video can be recorded.

Remote Viewing with Hik-Connect
Once connected to a suitable internet service and correctly configured,
the recorder can be accessed through the Hik-Connect app. Supported
functions include live viewing, recorded playback, system status and event
notifications.
Remote performance will depend on the internet connection, network
configuration, camera stream settings and mobile device being used.

- Homes with extensive existing coaxial camera cabling
- Retail stores and shopping environments
- Offices and commercial properties
- Warehouses and logistics facilities
- Body corporate and apartment buildings
