Set detection zones, schedules and sensitivity for the site, then test with real movement. Classification can reduce irrelevant alerts but does not remove all unwanted notifications. Recorder event handling and playback search depend on compatibility and firmware.
White Strobe and Audible Warnings
The /SL model uses a white warning strobe, with audio warnings delivered through its speaker. Event rules can activate these deterrents when the configured conditions are met. The white flashing light is an alarm feature; it is separate from the infrared used for night imaging.
Choose warning schedules and settings that suit the property and neighbouring areas. Red and blue flashing lights belong to the /SRB version and are not the light configuration supplied by this /SL listing.
Dual Microphones and Two-Way Audio
Two integrated microphones capture audio, while the built-in speaker allows communication through compatible software. Enable audio recording where it is required, and confirm support for camera audio and communication when selecting a recorder.
Speaker output and warning controls should be checked during commissioning. Available remote controls depend on the camera firmware, recorder and app configuration.
Wide-Angle Imaging and Infrared Night Vision
The fixed 2.8mm F1.0 lens provides a broad view across entrances and access areas. The sensitive sensor and wide aperture help use available light. When the scene is too dark for colour footage, infrared illumination supports black-and-white recording.
The 40m illumination specification is not a guaranteed identification distance. Position the camera around the detail you need and avoid nearby reflective walls or eaves that may affect IR imaging. Distant faces and small details may require another camera with a more targeted view.
Power and Recording Compatibility
This model requires IEEE 802.3at PoE+ (Class 4) or a suitable 12V DC supply. Its maximum specified PoE consumption is 18W. Check both the per-port capability and total power budget of the selected switch or NVR; an ordinary 802.3af-only port should not be assumed suitable.
Choose a compatible Hikvision network video recorder supporting the 6MP stream, incoming bandwidth, audio and desired event controls. A compatible microSD card up to 512GB can provide local recording. Retention depends on bitrate, schedule and storage capacity.
